Background
The Valmayor Drinking Water Treatment Plant (VDWTP) is managed by Canal de Isabel II and the plant has been operating since 1976
Key facts
- The plant capacity is 1,036,800 m3/day and it is the second biggest drinking water treatment plant in Spain. It receives water from the Valmayor Reservoir.
- The plant contains a pilot plant for researching and validating innovative technologies that can treat water from any process.
Expected activities
- Install a MITO3X® (including fluoro-absorbance sensors for process control) unit to optimize final disinfection with chloramines and 2 UV-VIS sensors.
- Investigate and optimize the formation of monochloramine.
