On January 9-10, 2025, Dublin City University (DCU) hosted the annual meeting of the intoDBP project, bringing together partners from across Europe to review progress and plan for the future.
The meeting marked a significant transition for the project as Maria José Farré, the outgoing coordinator, was thanked for her outstanding leadership, and Wolfgang Gernjak was welcomed as the new coordinator.
The meeting provided a platform for partners to present updates on recent activities, including sampling campaigns and analyses conducted at the project’s pilot plants. These efforts are part of the project’s focus on developing innovative, cross-cutting solutions for four case studies, addressing the complex scientific, technological, and policy challenges related to disinfection by-products (DBPs).
Dynamic discussions during the meeting centered on addressing these challenges, proposing actionable solutions, and mapping out the next steps for the coming months. This collaborative approach continues to drive the project forward in its mission to safeguard water quality and public health.
A special thanks goes to Dublin City University for their excellent organisation and to all partners for their invaluable contributions. Together, the intoDBP project is making important strides in tackling one of the most pressing issues in water management.
