The intoDBP project is looking for a motivated Project Manager to join our consortium through our coordinating partner, the Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA). This position offers a unique chance to work at the heart of a pioneering EU-funded initiative dedicated to ensuring the safety of drinking water across Europe and beyond.

The intoDBP project is at the forefront of developing innovative strategies to minimise public exposure to disinfection byproducts (DBPs) in drinking water, a critical challenge exacerbated by climate change. The successful candidate will work directly with project coordinator Wolfgang Gernjak and the team at ICRA, a leading international research centre based in Girona, Spain.

This is more than a traditional management role. The position is designed for a professional with a keen interest in the scientific content of the project. Key responsibilities will include assisting the project coordinator with organising meetings, reviewing technical deliverables, reporting to the consortium and the European Commission, and facilitating exchange with local stakeholders.

Crucially, the role also offers a unique opportunity to actively participate in the scientific evaluation and dissemination of project results. This includes hands-on involvement with the activities of the work package related to field monitoring of drinking water systems and pilot plants, bridging the gap between project management and applied research.

The initial contract is for up to 15 months, with the possibility of an extension. Furthermore, this position can serve as a stepping stone to a more permanent role within ICRA, which foresees an increased need for skilled project managers as it continues to grow as a leading research institution.
