Professor Paolo Roccaro from the University of Catania presented intoDBP during the WaterEnergy NEXUS event in Abu Dhabi held on 17-19 February 2025 and organized by the Khalifa University and the Center for Membranes and Advanced Water Technology (CMAT) .
His presentation focused on the project’s advanced methodologies for controlling disinfection by-products (DBPs) in drinking water systems, a critical area in ensuring public health and compliance with evolving water quality standards. In particular, he dlivered:
- Strategies to Minimize Disinfection by-Products (DBPs) in Water Treatment Plants
- Modeling the Removal of Micropollutants in Wastewater During AOPs by Sensors and Machine Learning
Under the theme of ‘Taste the future’, the WaterEnergy NEXUS conference provided a global nexus for innovation and collaboration in the water sector. The conference has traversed continents, from Europe to Africa and Asia, reflecting the universal importance of water and energy sustainability.
