Nicosia, Cyprus – March 14, 2024 – The Nireas-International Water Research Center of the University of Cyprus hosted the first meeting of the Case Study Board of Cyprus, marking a significant milestone in the Horizon Europe intoDBP project.
This event gathered key representatives from all project partners in Cyprus, including various centers and departments of the University of Cyprus such as the Nireas-International Water Research Center, KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, and the Departments of Chemistry and Psychology. Local stakeholders such as the Water Board of Limassol and S.K. Euromarket Ltd also participated.
The meeting served as a platform for these partners to present updates and share insights regarding their contributions to the project, which aims to minimize the presence of disinfection by-products in drinking water—a vital issue for public health.
The Case Study Board of Cyprus includes a diverse group of stakeholders and end-users such as the Water Development Department, the Water Boards of Nicosia and Larnaca, Medical and Public Health Services, the State General Laboratory, the Cyprus Water Association, and the Cyprus Consumers Association. These participants provide critical feedback, identify gaps, and propose innovative solutions throughout the project’s development.
This event is the first of four annual meetings planned in Cyprus to enhance collaboration and strengthen teamwork among the partners. The goal is to tackle challenges effectively and ensure the delivery of high-quality drinking water to the public.
